Teachings
on Love by Thich
Nhat Hanh
Thich
Nhat Hanh is known for writing about Zen philosophy with a Western
audience in mind.
What makes his books unique is that while the message is made applicable
to Western sensibilities, it is not watered down. So while this
book gives lots of inspiration for dealing with the human condition
and relationships, it does so while advocating monogomous relationships
and sex for love's, and not its own, sake.
With chapters on living mindfully, deep listening, love meditations
and prostrations the book lessens the divide between those who wish
to love and live openly and freely, and those who wish to explore
the Buddhist sense of non attachment. |
The
Age of Bede

Bede's Life of Cuthbert and Lives of the Abbots of Wearmouth and
Jarrow; Eddius's Life of Wilfrid; The Voyage of St Brendan and,
new to this edition, The Anonymous History of Abbot Ceolfrith.
A fascinating insight into the early Church, when the sixth and
seventh centuries witnessed a clash between Roman episcopal orthodoxy
and the democratic monasticism that was spreading over Ireland and
Northern England.
This Penguin translation preserves the flavour and atmosphere of
the original and gives an intriguing background into an important
religious and spiritual era. |
